Interested in submitting an article for publication on this site?
Here at Constitution Matters we believe, first and foremost, in the freedom of speech that is recognized in the first amendment. In that vein, we like to offer individuals the opportunity to express their ideas. However, this is not your ordinary blog site. The goal here is to educate rather than to beat political arguments to death. Consequently, for those who might like to submit an article or essay for consideration, please adhere to the following simple guidelines.
These guidelines will likely be adjusted over the course of time, but you probably get the drift. The purpose here is to dig into the U. S. Constitution and apply its contents to current political circumstances. The goal is to help people learn to weigh their own political decisions and the decisions made by our elected officials against the words of our founding document.
If you wish to submit an article for consideration, please email your article in Microsoft Word format or something comparable to contact@constitutionmatters.com.
Most appreciated are articles that provide insights and/or points of view regarding constitutional content. In other words, an article offering perspective on one of the Constitution's Articles or one of the Constitutional Amendments will be given serious consideration.
Articles/essays should be under 1,200 words and must be well written and articulate with points well-made. If a claim is made as a statement of fact, support should be provided regarding the remark's factual character. Opinions are acceptable as long as they are depicted as opinion.
Vulgarity, profanity, and name-calling are unacceptable and will not be published, so don't waste our time. If you cannot make your points without taking the low road, then you have no point to make.
All articles must be original. Articles copied from the works of others will not be accepted. Consequently, if you decide to submit an article, confirm with your submission that the article is your original work.
Articles commenting on current events are acceptable. However, if you wish to take a political stand on an issue or challenge an opposing position, please provide constitutional reasoning for your argument.
At this time, no compensation is offered for submissions, but this site may provide you with the opportunity to have your voice heard.
